1 Scope

This document gives an overview of the indicator system for the evaluation of rural sustainable development and an explanation of the indicators, and describes the methods by which they are calculated. This document applies to the selection and calculation of indicators when an evaluation of rural sustainable development is carried out at county level or above.

4 Overview of the Indicator System

4.1 The evaluation index system for sustainable rural development includes three levels of indicators.

4.2 The primary indicators include four items. rural economic sustainability, rural social sustainability, rural environmental sustainability, and supporting systems.

4.3 Secondary indicators include economic level, agricultural production efficiency, industrial structure, collective economic development level, technology popularization level, and infrastructure conditions. 4.5 When conducting assessments of rural sustainable development, subjective feelings of people should be fully considered.
