Scope
GB/T 40523-2021 is the English-translated version of 1:25000 1:50000光学测绘卫星几何检校技术规范.
GB/T 40523-2021 sets out how the geometric calibration of 1:25 000 and 1:50 000 optical surveying and mapping satellites is carried out in orbit.
It covers the general requirements, with the calibration content, accuracy requirements and process, the conditions for satellite data acquisition and for the control data, the calibration items and methods, the verification of calibration accuracy, and the calibration results and cycle, followed by quality control and recording requirements.
It defines terms such as satellite sensor geometric calibration, interior and exterior orientation parameters, the alignment matrix, the pointing field angle and artificial targets.
Informative annexes give an example of target layout, the exterior orientation method, interior orientation calibration based on pointing angles or on distortion parameters, and an example of results. It was issued on 11 October 2021 and has applied since 11 October 2021.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the general requirements, calibration conditions, calibration items and methods for the geometric calibration of 1:25,000 and 1:50,000 optical surveying and mapping satellites. Method, verification of calibration accuracy, calibration results and calibration cycle.
This standard applies to the on-orbit geometric calibration of 1:25,000 and 1:50,000 optical surveying and mapping satellites.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Satellite sensor geometric calibration
Use satellite ground calibration facilities or existing geographic information data (including digital orthophoto and digital elevation) that meet the geometric accuracy requirements Model, etc.), the process of regularly solving the internal and external orientation parameters of the surveying satellite sensor, and establishing a strict geometric model of the sensor.
3.2 Satellite sensor interior orientation parameters
The parameters required to describe the position of the satellite image point in the image space coordinate system.
Note: The orientation parameters of the satellite sensor include image principal point coordinates, principal distance, distortion parameters, etc.
3.3 Satellite sensor exterior orientation parameters
Describe the basic parameters of the position and orientation of the satellite sensor's photographic beam in the object space coordinate system and their changes over time.
Note: The external orientation parameters of the satellite sensor include satellite orbit measurement data, the offset between the camera center and the orbit measurement, satellite attitude data, offset matrix, etc.
3.4 Alignment matrix
Orthogonal rotation formed by the angle between the actual observation azimuth of the satellite sensor in the image space coordinate system and the satellite attitude measurement azimuth matrix.
3.5 Pointing field angle
The angle between the position vector of the satellite sensor imaging device in the image space coordinate system and the X, Y axis.
3.6 Artificial target
Feature targets that are pre-arranged manually and are easily identified on satellite remote sensing images.
