Scope

GB/T 40250-2021 is the English-translated version of 城市景观照明设施防雷技术规范.

GB/T 40250-2021 is the Chinese national specification for protecting urban landscape lighting from lightning.

It sets the basic requirements, the protection against a direct strike, the protection against the lightning electromagnetic pulse that travels along the power and signal lines, and the testing and maintenance that keep the installation effective.

It applies to the design, the construction, the inspection and the maintenance of lightning protection for the lighting of buildings, bridges, squares and other city landmarks, where the fittings are exposed and fed by long cable runs.

Designers, contractors and the bodies that inspect the installations use it. Issued on 21 May 2021, it has applied since 1 September 2021.

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.

1 Scope

This document specifies the basic requirements for lightning protection, direct lightning protection, lightning electromagnetic pulse protection, and lightning protection device testing for urban landscape lighting facilities. Methods and maintenance.

This document is applicable to the lightning protection design, construction, inspection and maintenance of urban landscape lighting facilities.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Landscape lighting

It is the lighting that expresses the building (structure) modeling or natural landscape features, artistic features, functional features and the surrounding environment.

3.2 Urbanlandscape lighting facility

Facilities used for power supply and control of urban landscape lighting.

Note: Including substation and distribution room, control room, work well, distribution box, control box, pipeline, light pole and lamps, etc.

3.3 Surge protector surgeprotectivedevice; SPD

An electrical appliance used to limit transient overvoltage and discharge surge current, which contains at least one non-linear element.

3.4 Isolator

A mechanical switching device that meets the requirements of the specified isolation function in the off position.
