Scope

GB/T 40199-2021 is the English-translated version of 城市园林废弃物资源回收和深加工技术要求.

GB/T 40199-2021 sets the Chinese national technical requirements for recovering urban garden waste as a resource and processing it further. Garden waste here means plant residues from the natural fall or tending of garden plants, such as grass clippings, fallen leaves and prunings of trees and shrubs.

The standard covers how this waste is collected and transported, the technical requirements for its deep processing, for example into composted products or machine-made charcoal briquettes, and the rules for production safety, environmental protection and labour hygiene.

1 Scope

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Garden waste

Plant residues produced in the process of natural fall of garden plants or artificial rearing.

Note: It mainly includes grass clippings, fallen leaves, pruning of trees and shrubs, etc.

3.2 Machine-made charcoal briquettes

A solid product obtained from combustible biomass containing carbon as a raw material, finely pulverized, dried, hot-pressed, and carbonized at a high temperature.
