Scope

GB/T 40087-2021 is the English-translated version of 地球空间网格编码规则.

GB/T 40087-2021 sets the rules for dividing geographic space into a grid of cells and giving each cell a code. The grid follows the GeoSOT Earth subdivision model, which splits the space covering land, sea, sky and underground human activity into multi-level units of continuous scale that fit without gaps or overlaps.

It covers the basic requirements and coordinate system, the grid range and starting point, the subdivision of the Earth reference ellipsoid and of the height domain, how positions and boundary surfaces are assigned to cells, and how ellipsoid and height codes are built.

Annexes give grid specifications, height division methods and a worked conversion from latitude and longitude to a grid code. It is used to identify spatial units and organise geospatial data. It was issued on 30 April 2021 and has applied since 30 April 2021.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

Introduction

With the development of information technology, geographic information is playing an increasingly important role in social services and applications. To satisfy big data The unified organization, fusion sharing, efficient retrieval and application of modern information realizes the unified identification of global multi-scale spatial locations, and makes the global geographic space Information is effectively operated, operated and analyzed under a unified framework, and there is an urgent need to establish a unified reference frame for geospatial data organization.

The geospatial grid is based on GeoSOT (GeographicalcoordinateglobalSubdivisionbasedonOne-dimension-integerandTwotonthpower) Earth division model, which uniformly divides the earth space into grid units of different scales, and is compiled according to the unified Code rules are used for identification and expression, and a grid-based geospatial data organization reference frame is constructed. The framework supports the earth's surface space and ground The aggregation of spherical three-dimensional space and geospatial information can effectively solve the identification and expression of massive spatial information in the Internet of Things, big data, and cloud computing.

The uniqueness, readability, scale, and relevance of the bottleneck on the Internet have realized the efficient organization, processing and application of multi-source and multi-scale data grids.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the requirements and coding methods for geospatial grid division.

This standard applies to geospatial grid division and code identification as a spatial unit and spatial information organization.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Geospatial

A collection of space points covering land, sea, space, and underground human activities.

Note: From the height of the earth, it is about -6302.106722602182km to 528680.1711252437km.

3.2 Geospatial subdivision

The process of dividing the earth space into a collection of multi-level spatial units with similar shapes, continuous scales, and seamless overlaps.

3.3 Geospatial grid

The discretized spatial area unit formed by the division of the earth space.

3.4 Geospatial grid code

According to certain rules, code identification is assigned to the earth space grid.

3.5 Basic grid

The initial division range is a 1°-level spatial area unit formed by recursive division.

3.6 Position point

The location point in the geospatial grid that plays a role in positioning.

3.7 Geodetic height

The distance from a point along the normal line of the ellipsoid to the surface of the ellipsoid. [GB/T 17159-2009, definition 4.30]
