Scope

GB/T 39988-2021 is the English-translated version of 全尾砂膏体制备与堆存技术规范.

GB/T 39988-2021 sets out the technical requirements for preparing total tailings paste and stockpiling it in a storage yard. The paste is made mainly from unclassified full-grain tailings, with other aggregates, cementing materials and water, into a non-Newtonian fluid that does not segregate or settle and bleeds only slightly.

It covers requirements for preparation and storage, test methods for the paste, discharge technology and the technical requirements of the storage yard, and defines terms such as slump, yield stress and mass concentration.

It applies to tailings paste from metal and non-metal mines. Referenced documents include the integrated wastewater discharge standard, the pollution control standard for industrial solid waste storage sites, the code for design of tailings facilities and the gold-industry specification for cyanide slag pollution control. Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements for the preparation and storage of full tailings paste, as well as its testing methods, discharge technology, and storage yard technical requirements.

This standard applies to the preparation and stockpiling of metal and non-metal mine tailings paste (hereinafter referred to as "paste").

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Total tailings

Unsorted full-grain tailings discharged from metal and non-metal mines after ore sorting.

3.2 Total tailings paste

Using whole tailings as the main material, matched with other aggregates, cementing materials, and mixed with water to form a paste without layering, no precipitation, and slight bleeding The non-Newtonian structured fluid.

3.3 Paste disposal

The process of sending the whole tailings paste to the storage yard for stockpiling.

3.4 Slump

Under its own weight, the difference between the final height of the paste naturally slumped and the height of the slumping cylinder.

3.5 Yield stress

The critical shear stress that the paste needs to overcome when it changes from a static state to a flowing state.

3.6 Mass concentration

The percentage of solid mass to the sum of solid and liquid mass.
