Scope

GB/T 39976-2021 is the English-translated version of 蒸发冷却式新风空调设备.

GB/T 39976-2021 covers outdoor air conditioning equipment that treats fresh air centrally by evaporative cooling, whether direct, indirect or composite. It defines these cooling methods and the rated water consumption ratio of cooling, classifies and identifies the equipment, and sets general requirements on filters, components and structure.

The requirements include appearance, air-tightness, start-up and operation, air leakage rate, noise and electrical safety, from insulation resistance and electric strength to leakage current and grounding.

Test methods cover cooling capacity of the direct and indirect sections, cooling power consumption, water consumption ratio and maximum and minimum load operation, followed by exit-factory and type inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage.

Manufacturers and testing bodies use it for production and inspection. It was issued on 21 May 2021 and has applied since 1 December 2021.

NOTE: direct evaporative cooling is also known as primary evaporative cooling.

3.3 Indirect Evaporative Cooling

Indirect evaporative cooling refers to the process, in which, air passes through a heat exchanger and exchanges heat with evaporatively cooled water to be cooled.

NOTE: indirect evaporative cooling is also known as secondary evaporative cooling.

3.4 Composite Evaporative Cooling

Composite evaporative cooling refers to a combination of direct evaporative cooling with one or several indirect evaporative cooling.

NOTE: composite evaporative cooling is also known as multi-stage evaporative cooling.

3.5 Evaporative Cooling Equipment

Evaporative cooling equipment refers to a device with direct evaporative cooling device, indirect evaporative cooling device or composite evaporative cooling device as the main air cooling equipment.

3.6 Rated Water Consumption Ratio of Cooling

Rated water consumption ratio of cooling refers to the ratio of the unit's rated cooling capacity to the rated water consumption under rated conditions.
