This document replaces GB/T 3810.2-2016 "Test Methods for Ceramic Tiles - Part 2: Inspection of Dimensions and Surface Quality", and is consistent with...
Compared to GB/T 3810.2-2016, apart from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) The definitions of "pinholes", "orange glaze" and "polishing defects" have been changed (see 3.11, 3.12, 3.20, and 2.11, 2.12, 2.20 in the 2016 edition).
b) The requirements for "samples" have been changed (see 4.2, 5.2, 6.3, 7.3, 8.2, 11.3, and 3.2, 4.2, 5.2, 6.2, 7.2, 10.2 in the 2016 edition).
c) The requirement for "calculation" in the measurement of right angles has been changed (see 7.1, 2.2 of the 2016 edition).
d) The requirements for "surface quality" have been changed (see 11.1, 11.3, 11.4, and 10.2 and 10.3 in the 2016 edition).
This document is modified to adopt ISO 10545-2:2018 "Ceramic tiles - Part 2: Inspection of dimensions and surface quality".
Compared with ISO 10545-2:2018, this document has undergone many structural adjustments. A comparison of the structural numbering changes between the two documents is provided below.
See Appendix A for the table.
The technical differences between this document and ISO 10545-2:2018, and the reasons therefor, are as follows.
--The requirement for the number of measurements in "Result Representation" (see 4.4) has been changed to be consistent with the sampling quantity requirements in the standard for easier understanding;
--The test method for flatness of tiles with a size no larger than 40 mm × 40 mm is removed, and no distinction is made between tile sizes (see 8.1).
To adapt to the actual situation of my country's ceramic tile size market;
--Added "Measurement of convex and concave surfaces" (see Chapter 9) to adapt to the actual situation of large-format ceramic tiles (slabs) in my country;
--Added "Measurement of the difference in length between opposite sides and the difference in length between diagonals" (see Chapter 10) to accommodate large-format ceramic tiles (slabs) in my country.
The actual situation.
The following editorial changes have been made to this document.
--To harmonize with existing standards, the standard title has been changed to "Test Methods for Ceramic Tiles - Part 2: Inspection of Dimensions and Surface Quality";
--The illustration numbers have been rearranged in order.

Introduction
The dimensions and surface quality of ceramic tiles are important indicators for evaluating the quality of ceramic tile products and their decorative performance in installation. Standardization efforts in this area have attracted attention.
This has garnered widespread attention both domestically and internationally. In this regard, the ISO 10545 series of standards, developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), outlines test methods for ceramic tiles.
Regarding standards, my country has already undertaken domestic adaptation work for this series of standards and established the corresponding GB/T 3810 "Test Methods for Ceramic Tiles".
National standards system.
This document is Part 2 of GB/T 3810 "Test Methods for Ceramic Tiles", which aims to determine the dimensions and surface quality of ceramic tiles.
GB/T 3810 "Test Methods for Ceramic Tiles" consists of 18 parts.
--Part 1: Sampling and Acceptance Conditions. The aim is to establish a sampling inspection system for ceramic tiles.

Ceramic Tile Test Methods Part 2: Inspection of Dimensions and Surface Quality
1 Scope
This document describes the dimensions of ceramic tiles (length, width, thickness, edge straightness, right angle, flatness, convex and concave surfaces, and difference in length between opposite edges).
Note. If gaps, glaze bubbles, and other irregular edge defects are concealed within the mortar joints after tile installation, then the length, width, edge straightness, and right angles should be measured.
The time is negligible.
This document applies to the inspection of the dimensions and surface quality of ceramic tiles.
2 Normative references this document has no normative references.
3 Terms and Definitions the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
straightness of sides Within the plane of the brick, the deviation of the center of the edge from the straight line.
Note. See Figure 1.
Indexing symbol explanation.
C -- The deviation of the center of the measured side from the straight line, in millimeters (mm).
L -- The working dimension of the measuring side, in millimeters (mm).
Figure 1.Side straightness
