GB/T 45817-2025 is the English-translated version of 消费品质量分级陶瓷砖.

GB/T 45817-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering which quality grade a tile belongs in — the categories and the principles behind the grading, the basic requirements every tile has to meet first, the grading indexes and their test methods, the roller marks and the uniformity of water absorption judged by the normative annexes, the machinability and cuttability of large slabs that decides whether a fitter can work them on site, the decision rules, and the grade mark. It grades only tiles with a water absorption of 3 percent or less. First edition, under the China Building Materials Federation. In force from 1 December 2025. Issued on 30 May 2025, it has been in force since 1 December 2025.

1 Scope

This document specifies the classification, classification principles, basic requirements, classification index requirements, test methods, judgment rules and Grading identification.

This document applies to the quality classification of ceramic tiles with a water absorption rate not exceeding 3%.
