Scope
GB/T 37346-2019 is the English-translated version of 不动产单元设定与代码编制规则.
This standard lays down how a real property unit is constituted, the structure of its identifier code and the rules for compiling that code. Clause 1 states that it applies to the formation, coding, identification, information processing and exchange of real property units.
Its contents list names clause 4 on the classification of cadastral districts and cadastral subdistricts, clause 5 on the division of parcels and of sea plots (Zonghai, including uninhabited islands), clause 6 on the division of fixed units for buildings and structures such as houses, for forests and trees and for other types, clause 7 on the formation of the real property unit, clause 8 on the code structure, the coding method and the way the code is written, clause 9 on code changes covering the county-level administrative division code, the cadastral district and subdistrict code, the parcel number, the sea plot number, the fixed unit code and extinguished real property, and clause 10 on the code tables.
Clause 3 defines the cadastre, the sea area use register, the cadastral district and subdistrict, the parcel, the sea plot and the boundary line, the sea area use register being rewritten from GB/T 19834-2005.
The introduction states that the standard was prepared to implement the Property Law of the People's Republic of China and the Provisional Regulations on Real Estate Registration, so that real property units are divided sensibly and each receives a unique code for the investigation and registration of immovable property rights.
GB/T 2260 on administrative division codes, GB/T 7027 on information classification and coding and GB/T 20001.3 on drafting classification standards are cited as normative references.

3 Terms and definitions
