GB/T 37270.3-2018 is the English-translated version of 海洋基础地理要素矢量地图 第3部分:符号格式交换.
GB/T 37270.3-2018 is the third part of the Chinese series on vector maps of marine fundamental geographic features, and sets the format for exchanging map symbols.
It specifies how point, line and area symbols are described in XML, following XML 1.0, with rules for tags, attributes and separators and a structure built from a root element, symbol sets, symbols and the point, line and polygon symbols themselves.
The root element OceanSymbols carries the name and version of the symbol library and corresponds to a symbol database held in a relational database system. It applies to exchanging symbols between the software that produces and uses base maps in marine geographic information systems, and builds on the symbol design of Part 1. It was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 July 2019.

GB/T 37270 "Marine Basic Geographical Elements Vector Map" is divided into three parts.
--- Part 1. Symbol design;
--- Part 2. Symbol Library Design;
--- Part 3. Symbol format exchange.
This part is the third part of GB/T 37270.
This part is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 37270 specifies the method of point, line and surface symbol exchange format in the vector map of marine basic geographic elements.
This section applies to the marine geographic information system base map in the marine geographic information system base map between the different symbol production and application software Number format exchange work.

3 General regulations
3.1 Format
Compliant format exchange uses extensible markup language (XML) to describe vector map symbols Said, following the format and syntax specified in XML1.0.
3.2 Rules
The symbol format exchange rules are shown in Table 1.
3.3 Structure
The main structure of the exchange format is shown in Figure 1, including root elements, symbol sets, symbols, dot symbols, line symbols, and polygon symbols. The specific structure is as follows.
