GB/T 37068-2018 is the part of the Chinese technical specification for forage stress tolerance testing that deals with acid tolerance. It explains how to measure the acid resistance of forage grasses at three growth stages - seed germination, seedling and vegetative growth - each of which it defines.
At the germination stage, for example, seeds are placed on germination beds treated with dilute hydrochloric acid solutions adjusted to pH 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0, in replicates, and are otherwise tested following the germination procedure of GB/T 2930.4, with the pH corrected regularly.
It is used to compare acid tolerance between different forage species and between varieties of the same species. It was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 July 2019.

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical specifications for the determination of acid resistance in forage identification.
This standard applies to the evaluation of acid resistance between different pastures and different varieties of the same pasture.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Acid tolerance
Forage grass tolerance to different acidic conditions.
3.2 Seed germination stage
From the time of sowing to the time when the seedlings are fully unfolded.
3.3 Seedling stage
From the time when the seedlings are fully expanded to the time when the branches or tillers appear.
3.4 Vegetative growth period
From the seedling stage to the grass heading period or the period before the bud stage of the leguminous grass.
4 Acid resistance determination
4.1 Seed germination period
4.1.1 Sample preparation
For each grass to be tested, choose 1600 healthy seeds.
4.1.2 Acid stress treatment
Set up three acid stress gradients, adjust the dilute hydrochloric acid solution to pH 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0, respectively, and add to the germination bed for each acidity treatment.
4 replicates, 100 seeds per replicate, other parameters were tested for germination according to the method of GB/T 2930.4, corrected every 2 days pH value.
