Scope

GB/T 36934-2018 is the English-translated version of 面向老年人的家用电器设计导则.

GB/T 36934-2018 gives guidance for designing household and similar electrical appliances so that older people can use them safely and easily. It sets out the design principles, the basic elements to consider, the design methods and the design review, and works with the user interface requirements of GB/T 36947.

It defines terms such as elderly person (aged 60 or over), ageing, main goal, safety and harm, and its informative annexes describe how ageing affects the use of appliances, give examples of measures for safety, ease of use, reliability and comfort, and show how to build a design guidance document.

It covers older people who live independently and does not deal with testing or evaluating appliances. It was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 July 2019.

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the design principles and basics for designing household and similar electrical appliances (hereinafter referred to as appliances) to meet the needs of the elderly. Elements, design methods, and design reviews.

This standard applies to the design of appliances that consider the needs of the elderly.

Note 1. This standard does not address methods for the detection and evaluation of appliances.
