Scope
GB/T 36873-2018 is the English-translated version of 原种鸡群禽白血病净化检测规程.
GB/T 36873-2018 sets out the testing procedure used to purify pedigree (original) chicken breeder flocks of avian leukosis. It defines the pedigree breeder flock and animal disease eradication, the process of finding infected birds through continuous testing and monitoring and removing them.
The procedure starts with newly hatched chicks: meconium is collected into sterile 1.5 mL centrifuge tubes containing phosphate buffered saline, frozen in liquid nitrogen and thawed repeatedly, centrifuged, and the supernatant is tested for the avian leukosis virus p27 antigen by ELISA under NY/T 680-2003 or with commercial kits.
It also draws on GB/T 26436-2010 for the diagnosis of avian leukosis. Breeding farms and veterinary laboratories use it in purification programmes. It was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the purification test procedures for avian leukemia in the original chicken flock.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Original breed flock
The original flock of breeding species is selected.
3.2 Animal disease purification
Discover diseased animals or infected animals through continuous testing and monitoring in a farm or designated area, and eliminate the poisoned animals To achieve the process of eradicating an animal disease.
4 Testing procedures
4.1 Detection and elimination of meconium in shelled chicks
4.1.1 Collection of samples
Place 0.5 mL of sterile phosphate buffered saline (phosphatebuffersaline) in each tube in a sterile 1.5 mL centrifuge tube. 4.1.2 Sample processing and testing
