GB/T 36696-2018 is the English-translated version of 土方机械 轮胎式装载机燃油消耗量 试验方法.
GB/T 36696-2018 is the Chinese national test method for measuring how much fuel a wheel loader uses.
It defines three tests: a loading operation test, in which fuel use is measured while the loader performs a simulated loading action with the specified load in the bucket; a loaded travel test on a firm, straight road; and a standby test with the engine at its minimum speed and the air conditioning and lighting switched off.
It also sets the test conditions, such as test machine configuration and engine speed adjustment, together with the methods of measuring fuel consumption, the fuel consumption evaluation value and an informative test record table.
It applies to loaders whose engine rated power is at least 40 kW and below 230 kW. It was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions of fuel consumption of tire loaders (hereinafter referred to as loaders), test items, test conditions, and tests. Quantity method, test method and evaluation value, etc.
This standard applies to loaders with a fuel engine rated power greater than or equal to 40 kW and less than 230 kW.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 25604 apply to this document.
4 Test items
The test is carried out in accordance with the following regulations.
---Loading operation test. When the loader loads the specified actual load mass (hereinafter referred to as the load bucket) in the bucket, The amount of fuel consumption during the simulated loading action;
---Load walking test. The loader measures the fuel consumption when walking in a solid and straight straight road under the load bucket condition;
---Standby test. Measure the fuel consumption of the engine at the minimum load speed (turn off air conditioning, lighting, etc.) in the standby state of the loader.
5 Test conditions
5.1 Test machine
5.1.1 Configuration
The test machine configuration shall be in the standard state specified by the manufacturer. If there is no impact on the operation, quality and mass balance of the test machine, then Unlimited.
5.1.2 Engine speed
The no-load minimum speed and the no-load maximum speed of the test machine engine are adjusted to within a specified value range.
