Scope
GB/T 36670-2018 is the English-translated version of 城市道路交通组织设计规范.
GB/T 36670-2018 is a guideline for designing how traffic is organised on urban roads. It sets the principles, content, process, main methods and implementation requirements of traffic operation design, from traffic investigation and design objectives to scheme review and optimisation.
It covers intersections, with pedestrian and non-motorised crossings, control modes, approach lanes and signal control; road sections, with access control, one-way traffic, bus and multi-occupant vehicle priority, tidal lanes, speed control and on-street parking; and whole areas, including city entrances, passenger and freight transport and area restrictions.
It also deals with large events and road works zones, and with evaluating the traffic organisation plan. It applies to planned, existing, rebuilt and expanded urban roads. It was issued on 10 October 2018 and has applied since 1 May 2019.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the principles, contents, processes, main methods and implementation requirements for urban road traffic organization design.
This standard applies to urban planning roads, existing roads, and traffic organization design for rebuilding and expanding roads. Traffic organization of other roads Refer to the implementation.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Traffic organization design
According to relevant national laws, regulations, policies and standards, comprehensive use of traffic engineering technology to improve road traffic order and ensure roads Road traffic safety and design work to improve road traffic efficiency.
3.2 Traffic road
The roads that serve traffic-oriented traffic mainly bear the traffic between the districts, transit traffic, freight traffic, etc. Fast, large flow, and small interference along the line.
3.3 Life path
In order to serve the roads along the route, the motor vehicles travel at a slower speed, with lower traffic, vehicles entering or leaving the city or pedestrians crossing the street. Traffic is more frequent.
3.4 One-way traffic
At the specified time and section, all or part of the vehicle can only travel in the same direction as the road traffic organization.
3.5 Flow direction ratio
The ratio of the traffic flow to the main traffic flow on the road and the opposite traffic flow.
