Scope
GB/T 36598-2018 is the English-translated version of 数字印刷 喷墨印刷图像质量属性的测试方法.
GB/T 36598-2018 sets out test methods for the image quality attributes of inkjet printing. It covers line and text quality, colour reproduction, resolution, uniformity, gloss and the durability of the print.
The standard lists the test instruments and materials, the quality attributes, how to prepare the test and the test methods themselves, with a normative annex giving the test samples for inkjet output and another giving standard chromaticity values for paper colours.
Definitions of digital printing and inkjet imaging are taken from GB/T 9851.8, and it draws on standards for densitometry, colorimetry, specular gloss and ISO/IEC 24790.
It applies to testing inkjet printed images and is used by printers, equipment and consumables makers and inspection centres. It was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the line, text quality and color reproducibility, resolution, uniformity, gloss, and print durability of inkjet imaging. Test methods for equal quality attributes.
This standard applies to the testing of inkjet printed image quality attributes. The image quality attribute test for inkjet printing can be referred to.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Digital printing
The image information is generated by digital information, and the image is directly imaged on the substrate or on the non-offline image carrier by means of the imaging device A printing method that performs imaging and indirectly transfers coloring and auxiliary substances to substrates to form printed matter and meets industrial production requirements. 3.2 Inkjet imaging
Under computer control, the ink is formed into ink droplets and ejected onto the substrate to form a graphic image. [GB/T 9851.8-2013, definition 3.9]
