GB/T 36202-2018 is the English-translated version of 锯材检验术语.
GB/T 36202-2018 defines the terms used when inspecting sawn timber, both softwood and hardwood. It starts from the product types: sawn timber itself, dried sawn timber, planed timber, preservative-treated and fire-retardant sawn timber, and square-edged sawn timber with parallel or tapered edges.
Many of these definitions are taken from, or rewritten from, GB/T 11917-2009, and each one cites its source. The vocabulary gives sawmills, timber traders and inspection bodies the same wording for grading and inspection reports. It was issued on 14 May 2018 and has applied since 1 December 2018.

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard defines the terms and definitions of sawn timber inspection.
This standard applies to the inspection of coniferous sawn timber and hardwood sawn timber.
2 Terms and definitions
2.1 Sawn timber
The product obtained from the processing of logs. [GB/T 11917-2009, definition 2.6]
2.2 Dry sawn timber
Sawn timber that has been subjected to atmospheric drying or artificial drying to meet the specified moisture content requirements. [GB/T 11917-2009, definition 2.7]
2.3 Planed sawn timber
Sawn timber or laminated timber that has been machined to meet technical requirements. [GB/T 11917-2009, definition 2.8]
2.4 Anti-corrosion sawn timber
Sawn timber treated with corrosion resistance. [GB/T 11917-2009, definition 2.9]
2.5 Fire-retarded sawn timber
It is processed with sawn timber with stagnation and flame resistance. [GB/T 11917-2009, definition 2.10]
2.6 Full-edge sawn timber
The relatively wide material faces are parallel to each other, the adjacent material faces are perpendicular to each other, and the blunt edges of the material edges do not exceed the allowable limit. [GB/T 11917-2009, definition 2.11]
2.6.1 Parallel edge sawing
Full-edge sawn timber with wide and narrow sides parallel to each other.

2.6.2 Trapezoidal edge sawing
Sawn timber with narrow sides that are not parallel to each other.
