GB/T 35936-2018 is the English-translated version of 牦牛毛.
GB/T 35936-2018 is the Chinese standard for yak hair as a raw fibre. It sets out how yak hair is classified and the technical requirements it must meet, and it covers sampling, inspection methods, inspection rules and certificates, together with packaging, marking, storage and transport.
Its definitions separate yak hair, made of fibres of 35 µm diameter or more, from yak wool, the fibres of 35 µm or less, and also deal with fibres of other animals and the natural staple length of a hair bundle.

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification of yak hair, technical requirements, sampling, inspection methods, inspection rules and inspection certificates, packaging, marking, storage and Transport requirements.
This standard applies to the acquisition, trading, processing and quality assessment of yak hair.

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Yak hair
Yam fiber has a diameter of 35 µm or more, and the fiber of 35 µm or more exceeds 1/2 of the total fiber length.
3.2 Yak wool
Fibers with a diameter of 35 µm or less in yak fibers.
