Scope
GB/T 35903-2018 is the English-translated version of 牙鲆 亲鱼和苗种.
GB/T 35903-2018 is the Chinese national standard for the broodstock, fry and fingerlings of bastard halibut, the olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus.
It sets out where broodstock may come from, either caught in natural sea areas or bred artificially from wild fish or from seed supplied by national or provincial breeding farms, and the quality requirements they must meet, starting with germplasm checked against GB/T 21441.
It also covers the test methods, the inspection rules, how seedlings are counted and the requirements for shipping them. The references point to germplasm testing, residue methods for malachite green, nitrofurans and chloramphenicol, and disease diagnosis such as viral nervous necrosis and lymphocystis.
Hatcheries, farms and inspection bodies use it to assess seed quality. It was issued on 6 February 2018 and has applied since 1 September 2018.
