Scope
GB/T 35893-2018 is the English-translated version of 化妆品中抑汗活性成分氯化羟锆铝配合物、氯化羟锆铝甘氨酸配合物和氯化羟铝的测定.
GB/T 35893-2018 sets out how to measure the antiperspirant active ingredients aluminium zirconium chloride hydroxide complexes, their glycine complexes and aluminium chlorohydrate in cosmetics.
Zirconium is determined by spectrophotometry with arsenazo III at 664 nm, the reference method in case of dispute, or by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry, and aluminium by ICP-OES; results are given as mass fractions of zirconium and aluminium.
The standard lists the reagents, zirconium standard solutions, apparatus and procedures, and gives detection and quantification limits for each method, such as 59 mg/kg and 72 mg/kg for the spectrophotometric zirconium method.
Annex A gives the INCI names and CAS numbers of the common complexes. Cosmetics manufacturers and testing laboratories use it. It was issued on 6 February 2018 and has applied since 1 September 2018.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies spectrophotometry and inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometry to determine the content of antiperspirant active ingredients in cosmetics.
The method for the determination of zirconium in this standard (spectrophotometry and inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometry) is applicable to the suppression of sweat cosmetics.
The determination of antiperspirant active ingredients such as zirconyl chloride aluminum complexes and zirconium chloride aluminum glycine complexes was performed based on the mass fraction of zirconium (%).
The method for the determination of aluminum in this standard (inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometry) is applicable to the inhibition of aluminum hydroxide and hydroxyl chloride in sweat cosmetics.
Zirconium aluminum complexes, zirconium chloride aluminum glycine complexes and other antiperspirant active ingredients were measured and the results were based on the mass fraction of aluminum (%).
Note: Common chlorohydrazonium aluminum complexes, zirconium chloride aluminum glycine complexes, aluminum chlorohydrates, INCI, CAS letters See Table A.1 for information.
The standard zirconium determination (spectrophotometric method) detection limit is 59mg/kg, the limit of quantitation is 72mg/kg. Determination of zirconium (inductive coupling equidistant The daughter emission spectrometry method has a detection limit of 10 mg/kg, a limit of quantification of 20 mg/kg, and determination of aluminum (inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometry).
The limit of detection was 20 mg/kg and the limit of quantitation was 60 mg/kg.

3 Determination of Zirconium --- Spectrophotometry (Arbitration)
3.1 Principle
The zirconium ion reacts with azo III in hydrochloric acid to form a purple complex with characteristic absorption at visible light 664 nm.
The value is proportional to the zirconium content within a certain concentration range, thereby quantifying the mass content of zirconium.
3.2 Reagents and materials
Unless otherwise stated, the reagents used were of analytical grade, and water was a grade of water that complied with GB/T 6682 regulations.
3.2.1 hydrochloric acid. Measure 500mL of pure concentrated hydrochloric acid (mass fraction 37%) slowly added to 500mL water, stir, cool to room temperature.
3.2.2 0.1% arsenazo III solution. Weigh 0.20g of arsenazo III, add water to 200g, stir well.
3.2.3 Concentrated sulfuric acid (rho20 = 1.84g/mL). excellent grade pure.
3.2.4 Concentrated nitric acid (rho20=1.42g/mL). pure grade.
3.2.5 Zirconium standard solution. 1000mg/L.
3.2.6 Zirconium standard working solution. Pipette accurately 0.20 mL, 0.40 mL, 0.60 mL, 0.80 mL, 1.00 mL 1000mg/L zirconium standard solution (3.2.5) in 100mL volumetric flask, add hydrochloric acid (3.2.1) to dissolve and set the volume to the mark, that is, concentration The standard working solutions of zirconium series were 2.0 µg/mL, 4.0 µg/mL, 6.0 µg/mL, 8.0 µg/mL, and 10.0 µg/mL.
