Scope
YY/T 10002-2026 is the English-translated version of 化妆品用植物来源原料技术要求通则.
YY/T 10002 is the template standard for every botanical cosmetic ingredient China will specify. It sets the terms and definitions for plant-derived cosmetic raw materials and specifies the technical requirements together with the labelling, packaging, transport and storage, and the underlying principles. Its purpose is structural: it applies to the drafting of standards for plant-derived raw materials, so it governs what any individual botanical ingredient standard has to contain and how it has to be written. It was issued in April 2026 with the first of those individual standards, including YY/T 10003 on Centella asiatica extract. For an ingredient supplier, a brand or anyone following Chinese cosmetic regulation, this is the document that shows what the whole botanical ingredient framework will look like as it fills out.
