This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the sequence format for high-throughput sequencing data, including the format of the sequence description format and the overall format of high-throughput sequencing data.
This standard applies to the specification of biological DNA high throughput sequencing data sequence format.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 High-throughput sequencing
Sequencing of DNA with a sequence of hundreds of thousands to several millions of nucleic acid molecules and a short read length technology.
Note: Rewrite GB/T 30989-2014, definition 3.1.9.
3.2 Sequencing reads
Sequence fragments generated by high-throughput sequencing platforms containing base sequences and mass values.
3.3 Double-ended sequencing (paired-end sequencing)
The DNA template strand and the complementary strand were sequenced separately, and the sequencing technology for pairwise sequencing of the two strands was obtained.
3.4 Insert length (insert size)
In the double-end sequencing, the distance from the left end of the sequencing fragment sequenced from the template strand to the right end of the sequencing fragment of the complementary strand sequence.
3.5 Sequencing fragment identification code (reads identifier)
A unique string used to identify a piece of sequencing.
3.6 Base sequence
A string that records the base sequence in the sequencing segment. Each base in the base sequence should use uppercase letters (A, T, C, G, and N) or Lowercase letters (a, t, c, g, and n), where the letters A and a represent adenine, the letters T and t represent thymine, and the letters C and c represent cytosine […]
