1 Scope

China's national specification for wheeled loaders. It specifies the terms and definitions, the models, the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage, and it applies to the wheel loaders defined in GB/T 8498. The wheeled loader is the most widely used earth-moving machine there is, and China builds more of them than the rest of the world combined. Its virtue is versatility: articulated in the middle so it turns in its own length, it loads trucks, stockpiles material, feeds crushers, clears snow, handles pallets and carries whatever a quick-coupler will hold. That range is what makes a technical specification worth writing, because a machine used for everything is bought on figures that must be comparable - breakout force, tipping load at full turn, bucket capacity, cycle time - and each of those can be quoted several ways. Fixing the definitions and the test methods is what stops the numbers in a brochure being a matter of taste.

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of tire loaders, models, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and Storage. This standard applies to GB/T 8498 provisions of the wheel loader (hereinafter referred to as loader), other types of loaders can also refer to use.
