GB/T 34428.3-2017 is the third part of the series on communication between the devices of an expressway surveillance and control system, and it covers LED variable message signs.
It gives the terms and definitions and the communication procedures - the message frames, the commands and the replies - used between the control centre and the signs.
It applies to the data communication between the host computer of a highway monitoring system and its LED variable message signs, so that signs from different suppliers answer the same commands.
Road operators, system integrators and sign manufacturers work to it. Issued on 29 September 2017, it has applied since 1 April 2018.

Foreword
GB/T 34428 "expressway monitoring facilities communications regulations" is divided into six parts.

1 Scope
This section GB/T 34428 specifies the terms and definitions of LED variable information signs for expressway monitoring and communication Procedures.
This section applies to highway monitoring system in the host computer and LED variable information signs between the data communications.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 LED variable information sign LEDchangeablemessagesign
Installed on the side of the highway or on the road to the LED light-emitting elements for the pixel matrix composed of dot-matrix display can be changed by controlling the command Show content, display text or graphics information, used to release traffic guidance, speed feedback, speed limit tips and other information facilities.
3.2 Information file
The file that defines the display content and display mode of the LED variable information flag is stored in the built-in memory of the LED variable information flag Memory, and can be downloaded by the host computer preset. The corresponding number can be displayed by the host computer by sending the corresponding number of the information file.
3.3 Immediately display the information file
Numbered information file. PC through the download immediately display information file LED variable information signs immediately display.
3.4 Pre-stored graphics file
Stored in the LED variable information flag built-in memory, can be downloaded by the host computer bitmap file.
4 Communication procedures
4.1 General requirements
