Scope

GB/T 45605-2025 is the English-translated version of 城市道路交通闪烁光信号技术要求.

GB/T 45605-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering the flashing warning light on an urban road, which is not a traffic light and gives no right of way — the single and combined types and the two intensity levels, the emission colour, the flicker characteristics including the pulse interval and the synchronous deviation between units of a combined signal, the optical performance, the automatic control, the environmental reliability, and the conditions under which such a signal may be set. First edition, with the terminology standard GB/T 45606-2025. Under the Ministry of Public Security. In force from 1 November 2025. Issued on 25 April 2025, it has been in force since 1 November 2025.

Technical requirements for flashing light signals for urban road traffic

1 Scope

This document specifies the classification, general technical requirements, test methods and setting requirements for flashing light signals in urban road traffic.

This document is applicable to the design, testing and installation of traffic flashing light signals fixedly installed on urban roads, and fixedly installed on other roads.

Traffic flashing light signals are used for reference.

3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB 13954-2009 and the following apply to this document.

3.1

A light signal that is fixed on the road and emits a warning or road traffic information with a certain flashing frequency and color.

Note 1.Traffic flashing light signals do not belong to road traffic signals (road traffic lights, signs and markings).

Note 2.Traffic flashing light signals may be set up on the roadside or on the road surface.

Note 3.Fixed setting refers to setting after passing road safety assessment, not temporary setting.

3.2 pulseinterval

The time interval between adjacent pulses within one flash cycle.

3.3 Synchronous deviation timedifference

The time difference between the synchronous flashing of combined traffic flashing light signals under the same trigger signal conditions.

4 Categories

4.1 Traffic flashing light signals are classified into single-unit and combined types according to the number of signal devices.

The light signal is a light signal emitted by the light-emitting units of multiple signal devices in combination.

4.2 Traffic flashing light signals are divided into low intensity and high intensity levels according to the luminous intensity.
