Scope

GB/T 33974-2017 is the English-translated version of 热轧花纹钢板及钢带.

GB/T 33974-2017 sets what hot rolled checker steel sheet and strip must be. It fixes the classification and code numbers, the order content, the dimensions, shape and weight, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the packaging, markings and quality certificates.

Sheets are classed by edge condition, trimmed EC or untrimmed EM, and by pattern - diamond LX, lentil BD, round bean YD and combined ZH - and an order must state the standard number, the grade, the product category, the specification, the pattern shape, the edge condition and any other requirement.

Steel grades and chemical composition follow GB/T 700, GB/T 712, GB/T 1591 and GB/T 4171, with the finished-product deviations of GB/T 222; sheets are delivered hot rolled and by actual weight, or by theoretical weight to Annex A if the purchaser asks, and sizes not covered follow GB/T 709.

Flatness is limited to 15 mm, 12 mm and 10 mm over a 1000 mm measured length as thickness increases. Tensile and bend tests, when agreed, follow GB/T 228.1 and GB/T 232 with test pieces to GB/T 2975; the surface must be free of bubbles, scars, cracks, folds, inclusions and delamination.

It also refers to GB/T 247, GB/T 8170, GB/T 17505 and GB/T 20066. It applies to diamond, lentil, round-bean and combination pattern hot rolled checker sheet and strip from 1.4 mm to 16.0 mm thick. Issued on 12 July 2017, it has applied since 1 April 2018.
