Scope

GB/T 3390.5-2013 is the English-translated version of 手动套筒扳手 检验规则、包装与标志.

This standard fixes the inspection, packaging and marking of hand operated socket wrenches. Clause 1 states that it specifies the inspection rules, the packaging and the marking for them and that it applies to the hand wrenches used to assemble and dismantle hexagonal bolts and nuts.

It is the fifth item of the GB/T 3390 series, whose other parts cover the socket, the square drive and square hole, the drive accessories and the connection accessories of hand socket wrenches.

Clause 3, inspection rules, opens with 3.1 delivery inspection, which requires every product to be inspected before it leaves the factory and to go out with a product certificate, draws the delivery inspection items from the sampling plan of GB/T 2828.1, allows a test sample to be made up of items of one specification or of a whole set, and puts the classification of substandard products, the test items, the acceptance quality limit and the inspection level into Table 1, whose values are the AQLs 2.5 and 6.5 and the inspection levels S-2 and S-3 against items such as socket dimensions, the torque of socket and accessories, hardness, the fit of the square drive in the square hole, operating performance and surface quality.

The same subclause lets a rejected product be repaired and reclassified before being resubmitted for acceptance, has the delivery party replace samples found nonconforming, and requires the whole batch of a component to be re-inspected when that component fails in a suite of products.

The draft breaks off after 3.1.7, so the type test, the packaging and the marking are not shown, although the foreword places the type test at 3.2 and the product marking requirements at 4.1 and names both, together with an adjustment of the test items in Table 1, as the main technical changes against the 2004 edition.

Clause 2 cites GB/T 2828.1, GB/T 2829 and GB/T 5305. The foreword also records GB/T 3390.5-1982 and GB/T 3390.5-1989 among the editions this standard replaces, and the page lists the 1989 and 2004 editions as obsolete.

It replaces GB/T 3390.5-2004, was issued on 2013-11-12 and has applied since 2014-05-01.
