Scope
GB/T 33698-2017 is the English-translated version of 太阳能资源测量 直接辐射.
GB/T 33698-2017 describes how direct radiation is observed when solar energy resources are measured. It sets the requirements for the observing site, the measuring instruments, the installation and maintenance of those instruments, the collection of the measurement data and the processing of that data.
A normative annex gives the style of the monthly report for solar resource direct radiation observations.
Clause 3 defines solar energy resource, direct radiation, height angle, irradiance and irradiation, taking the definitions from GB/T 31163-2014, and notes that irradiance is expressed in watts per square metre and irradiation as a total over a given period.
The standard applies to the measurement of direct radiation in solar energy resource measurement and cites QX/T 20. Issued on 12 May 2017, it has applied since 1 December 2017.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Solar resources
Can be converted into heat, electricity, chemical energy for human use of solar energy. [GB/T 31163-2014, definition 2.2]
3.2 Direct radiation
From the surface and its surrounding a small solid angle emitted within the radiation. [GB/T 31163-2014, definition 5.11]
3.3 Height angle
In a place where the celestial bodies on the circle, the celestial bodies and the gap between the horizon. [GB/T 31163-2014, definition 3.17]
3.4 Irradiance
Objects in the unit time, the unit area to receive the radiation energy.
Note: The irradiance is measured in watts per square meter (Wm-2). [GB/T 31163-2014, definition 6.3]
3.5 Irradiation
The total amount of irradiance for a given period of time.
Note 1: The amount of irradiation is measured in joules per square meter (J · m-2).
Note 2: In the past, the amount of exposure used in the field of solar energy is not recommended. [GB/T 31163-2014, definition 6.5]
