Scope
GB/T 33509-2017 is the English-translated version of 机械密封通用规范.
GB/T 33509-2017 is the Chinese general specification for mechanical seals. It gives the terms and definitions, the sealing structures, the design requirements, the material requirements, the performance requirements, the circulation protection or support system, the test methods and the requirements for packaging, marking and storage.
For pump seals it sets out seven basic types and three arrangements, with arrangements 2 and 3 each able to be combined face to back, back to back or face to face: type I is an inside, spring-loaded, unbalanced seal, type II an inside, spring-loaded, balanced one, and type III an inside rotating seal with a rubber bellows.
Its terms follow GB/T 5894. It applies to the mechanical seals of pumps, of reaction vessels and of similar rotating shafts. Issued on 28 February 2017, it has applied since 1 September 2017.

This standard is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the mechanical seal terms and definitions, sealing structure, design requirements, material requirements, performance requirements, cycle protection (support) System, test methods and packaging, marking and storage.
This standard applies to pump, kettle and similar rotary shaft with mechanical seals.

4 Sealed structure
4.1 Mechanical seal of pump
4.1.1 Overview
Pump mechanical seals can be divided into seven basic types, three arrangement (1, 2 and 3). Arrangements 2 and 3 can be divided into three combinations Way. face back, back to back and face to face.
4.1.2 Seal basic type and parameters
Pump mechanical seal type is as follows.
--- type I seal for the interior, spring, non-balanced type, see Figure 1.
