Scope
GB/T 33505-2017 is the English-translated version of 自动扶梯梯级和自动人行道踏板.
GB/T 33505-2017 fixes the requirements for the design, manufacture, marking and packaging of escalator steps and moving walk pallets.
It defines the step, the pallet and the tread, then gives the symbols and units and the technical requirements themselves: general requirements, strength, dimensions, the connection of the parts of a step or pallet, materials, the protective surface coating needed where the step or pallet has to be preserved against corrosion, and non-slip performance.
Marking and packaging close the document, and an annex gives examples of dimensions and tolerances. Testing is referred to standards for impact resistance, coating ageing, neutral salt spray, pencil hardness and resistance welding, with terms from GB/T 7024 and GB 16899-2011.
It does not apply to moving walk belts. It was issued on 28 February 2017 and has applied since 1 September 2017.

Foreword
This standard is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
Introduction
This standard gives the basic requirements for the design and manufacture of escalator steps or moving walkway pedals, including steps or pedal parts Connection and the need for preservative treatment of the steps or pedals of the protective surface coating of the general requirements. Customers and manufacturers also need to run on steps or Pedal use environment, expected life and traffic, etc., and take appropriate measures to meet specific need.
Based on the different manufacturing methods and processes of steps or pedals, and the need to meet the safe operation of escalators and moving walkways, The manufacturer of the escalator or moving walkway with the manufacturer of the step or pedal also needs to determine the appropriate dimensional tolerances.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements for the design, manufacture, marking and packaging of escalator steps and moving walkway pedals.
This standard applies to escalator steps and automatic walkway pedals.
This standard does not apply to automatic sidewalk tape.
