Scope

GB/T 33488.1-2017 is the English-translated version of 化工用塑料焊接制承压设备检验方法 第1部分:总则.

GB/T 33488.1-2017 is Part 1 of GB/T 33488 and gives the general principles for the non-destructive testing of welded plastic pressure equipment used in the chemical industry, by visual inspection, by radiographic testing and by ultrasonic testing.

It applies to welded joints in pipes and sheets of polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, ABS, PVDF and modified PTFE made by hot-gas, extrusion and heated-tool butt welding.

It defines volume defects, area defects, the welded joint and the pressure equipment itself, which is delimited by a maximum working pressure of 0.1 MPa gauge or more, a volume of 30 L or more and an inner diameter of 150 mm or more.

It also sets requirements for the testing bodies and their personnel, the general procedure and the process card. It was issued on 28 February 2017 and has applied since 1 September 2017.

Foreword

GB/T 33488 "Chemical plastic welding system with pressure equipment inspection method" is divided into four parts.

- Part 1. General;

- Part 2. Appearance inspection;

- Part 3. Ray detection;

- Part 4. Ultrasonic testing.

This part is part 1 of GB/T 33488.

This part is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This part of GB/T 33488 specifies the appearance inspection, ray detection and ultrasonic testing of pressure-sensitive equipment for plastic welding of chemical industry The general principle of damage detection method.

This part is suitable for the use of polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), acrylonitrile - butadiene - styrene plastic (ABS) Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and modified polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and other thermoplastic pipe or sheet, and the use of hot air welding, extrusion welding, hot melt Nondestructive Testing of Welded Joints for Welding Pressure Vessels and Pressure Pipes.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Volume defective

Plastic welds have three-dimensional defects; the defects are classified according to the three-dimensional shape characteristics, such as pores, slag.

3.2 Area defects

Plastic welds have a two-dimensional or third dimension of a very small defect; the defects are classified by planar shape features such as cracks, Face to face.

3.3 Welded joint

A combination of two or more parts made of welding, including plastic welds, fused areas and heat affected zones.

3.4 Plastic welding system pressure equipment

The maximum working pressure is greater than or equal to 0.1MPa (gauge pressure), the medium is gas, liquefied gas and the maximum operating temperature is higher than or equal to the standard Boiling point of the liquid, the volume is greater than or equal to 30L and the inner diameter (non-circular cross-section refers to the boundary of the largest geometric size) greater than or equal to 150mm containers, such as PP welding absorption tower; the maximum working pressure greater than or equal to 0.1MPa (gauge pressure), the media for the gas, liquefied gas,
