GB/T 32962-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering recovering the heat from a sinter plant - the hot exhaust from the machine and the cooler, the boilers and the power generated, the sealing that stops cold air diluting the stream, and the indicators the recovery is measured against. It replaces GB/T 32962-2016, under the China Iron and Steel Association. In force from 1 May 2026. Issued on 31 October 2025, it has been in force since 1 May 2026, replacing GB/T 32962-2016.

Foreword

This document conforms to GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting is scheduled. This document replaces GB/T 32962-2016 "Technical Specification for Sintering Waste Heat Recovery and Utilization". Compared with GB/T 32962-2016, it includes the following improvements. Aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) A classification of sintering waste heat resources has been added (see Chapter 4);

b) The basic principles and planning methods for the comprehensive utilization of sintering waste heat in stages have been added (see Chapter 5);

c) The waste heat recovery process has been modified (see Chapter 6, Chapter 4 of the.2016 edition).

d) The overall technical requirements for cascade utilization have been added (see 7.1.1);

e) The requirements for waste heat recovery methods have been changed (see 7.1.4, Chapter 5 of the.2016 edition);

f) Increased sealing requirements (see 7.1.5);

g) The requirements for waste heat recovery from the main flue gas in sintering have been changed (see 7.2,.2016 version 7.2).

h) Requirements for sintering machine feed chute and low-temperature exhaust gas cascade waste heat recovery have been added (see 7.4);

i) Requirements for waste heat recovery pipelines in sintering machine tail gas have been added (see 7.5.8);

j) The fan inlet noise requirement has been removed (see

7.5.3 in the.2016 version);

k) A sintering machine tail gas recovery pipeline was added (see 7.6.5);

This document specifies the resource classification, basic principles and methods for cascaded comprehensive utilization, and process flow for sintering waste heat recovery and utilization. Process, technical requirements, and evaluation indicators for operation. This document applies to the design, construction, operation, and acceptance of new and renovated sintering waste heat recovery and utilization projects in steel enterprises.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 1028 and GB/T 13234, as well as the following terms and definitions, apply to this document.

3.1 Waste heat of sintering flue gas Sensible heat from flue gas generated during the exhaust sintering and roasting process that is technically recoverable.

3.2 Waste heat of sintering cooling system Sensible heat from technically recoverable waste gas generated during the cooling process of hot sintered ore.

3.3 Waste heat of sintering machine tail gas Sensible heat from technically recoverable waste gas generated during the crushing of sintered cakes.

3.4 Waste heat steam drag of sintering The steam generated from the sintering waste heat recovery directly drives the main exhaust fan.
