Scope

GB/T 32719.3-2016 is the English-translated version of 黑茶 第3部分:湘尖茶.

GB/T 32719.3-2016 is part 3 of GB/T 32719 and fixes the terminology and definitions, the grades, the requirements, the inspection methods, the inspection rules, the marking and labels, the packaging, the transportation, the storage and the shelf life of Xiangjian tea.

Clause 1 states that the part applies to products of this tea type, although the draft's rendering of the product category it names is garbled.

The foreword divides GB/T 32719 into four parts, which it lists as basic requirements, Hanamaki tea, Xiangjian tea and Six Fort Tea, and the page title gives the series name as dark tea while the draft renders it throughout as black tea.

The only definition the draft reaches is that of Xiangjian tea itself, described by the draft as an Anhua black tea product made from Anhua black hair tea by screening, re-baking, pick tick, matching of the semi-finished product, steaming, packing, press moulding, cool ventilation and drying and finished packaging, among other processes, two of whose names the draft garbles; the text then breaks off, so the grades, requirements and inspection clauses announced in clause 1 are not displayed.

Clause 2 cites GB/T 191, GB 2763, GB/T 8302, GB/T 8303, GB/T 8304, GB/T 8305, GB/T 8306, GB/T 9833.1, GB/T 30375, GB/T 32719.1, GH/T 1070 and JJF 1070, together with three further standards whose codes the list omits, among them the contaminant limits for foodstuffs, the labelling of prepackaged food and the sensory evaluation of tea, and with two administrative documents of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, numbered 75 of 2005 on the metrological supervision of quantitatively packaged commodities and 123 of 2009 amending the rules on the administration of food labelling.

The part was proposed by the China National Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives and is held by the National Tea Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC339), and it was drafted by Hunan Agricultural University, the Hangzhou Tea Research Institute of the China National Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperation, Hunan Tea Group and other Hunan tea enterprises and a municipal agricultural bureau.

It carries ICS 67.140.10 and Chinese classification X55, and it was issued on 14 June 2016 and has applied since 1 January 2017.
