Scope

GB/T 31249-2014 is the English-translated version of 电子电气产品环境意识设计 材料选择.

GB/T 31249-2014 specifies the principles and the objectives of materials selection for electrical and electronic products, together with the requirements for recording the information from that process.

Clause 1 states that it applies to all newly developed or redesigned electrical and electronic products.

Clause 3 carries three definitions, environmentally conscious design with its abbreviation ECD, material, and materials selection, which it describes as the process of bringing environmental aspects into the choice of materials so as to reduce the negative environmental impacts associated with the product.

Clause 4 opens the principles and objectives of materials selection and calls for life-cycle thinking, so that the negative environmental impact of a material across all the phases of the product life cycle is considered and environmental aspects are brought into the selection process on top of the factors already weighed.

The introduction explains that materials are both a basic element of these products and an important environmental factor across their life cycle, and that the standard is meant for the staff directly involved in product development and for those who set policy and take part in decisions inside the organization, so that, while meeting the safety, function and cost requirements of the product, they can assess the environmental impact of candidate materials at the related life-cycle stages and choose the one with the least negative impact.

The range of materials selection is stated to include all the materials used, consumed, recycled and disposed of in the product life cycle. Clause 2 cites GB/T 24001-2004, GB/T 24040-2008 and IEC/TR 62635.

The foreword records that the standard is centralized by the National Standardization Technical Committee Environmental electrical and electronic products and systems (SAC/TC297), and the draft published on the page breaks off at the end of clause 4.1. It was issued on 5 December 2014 and has applied since 16 April 2015.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules.

Introduction

Materials constitute the basic elements of electrical and electronic products, electrical and electronic products but also in the whole life cycle of important environmental factors. One Surface material to the achievement of the expected product features and performance play a role to ensure that; on the other hand, the material in all stages of the product life cycle and Environmental Development Student interaction, resulting in a corresponding impact on the environment.

Materials, production, use and disposal of end of life on the environment (including resources, energy) have a significant impact, unreasonable choice And use of materials and energy will result in a waste of resources and environmental pollution, and scientific and reasonable material selection can reduce or avoid ring Negative impact on the environment.

GB/T 23686, material selection based on environmental awareness is a key step in the design process, comprehensive evaluation by performance materials, into The environmental impact and support for environmentally friendly choice of materials between product performance, cost control and environmental balance.

This standard specifies the range of material selection included in the product life cycle requires the use, consumption, recycling and disposal of all materials Material designed to help directly involved in product development staff, is responsible for formulating policies and staff participation in decision-making processes within the organization, in product development Or improve the design, meet the safety requirements in the product, functions and cost control condition by evaluating candidate materials in each product The environmental impact of a related life-cycle stages and choose the least negative environmental impact material.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the electrical and electronic products material selection principles, purpose, and process the information recording requirements.

This standard applies to all newly developed or improved design of electrical and electronic products.

3.1 Environmentally conscious design; ECD

Consider a systematic approach to environmental factors in the design and development process, aimed at reducing the negative environmental impacts of products.

Note 1. The design and the environment, eco-design, sustainable design, green design, eco-friendly design, and other terms are synonymous.

Note 2. rewrite GB/T 23686-2009, definitions 3.6.

3.2 Material

It can be used to make useful substances member, such as a device or product.

Note 1. The product life cycle of the materials used, including not only material products, including the product in use and maintain the desired phase component parts, eliminate Consumption goods.

Note 2. Quoted from the National Science and Technology Terminology Committee of Materials Science Terminology Committee "Materials science and technology noun (defined version)."

3.3 Material selection

Environmental aspects into the process of selection of materials, and materials to reduce the negative environmental impacts associated with the product.

4 Material selection principles and objectives

4.1 Principles

The use of life-cycle thinking to consider reducing the negative environmental impact of materials on all phases of the product life cycle, considering the material selected group Premise basis of factors will be considered environmental aspects into product material selection process.
