Scope
GB/T 31245-2024 is the English-translated version of 预拌砂浆术语.
GB/T 31245-2024 is the Chinese vocabulary of ready-mixed mortar. The shift from mortar mixed on site to mortar delivered wet or dry from a plant has been mandated across Chinese cities, and it brought with it an entire vocabulary that had no settled Chinese usage: the product types, the delivery and storage systems, the retention and workability terms, and the test apparatus. The standard defines the terms by group: the basic terms, the product terminology covering wet-mixed and dry-mixed mortars and their application classes, masonry, rendering, plastering, floor screed, tile adhesive and thermal insulation mortars, the raw material terminology for the cements, aggregates, mineral admixtures and chemical additives, the performance terms including the workability, water retention, setting time, strength and bond, the testing equipment terminology and the production and application terms. For anyone reading Chinese mortar specifications or plant documentation, this is the key to the vocabulary. It takes effect on 1 May 2025.
