Scope
GB/T 30738-2014 is the English-translated version of 海洋沉积物中放射性核素的测定 γ能谱法.
GB/T 30738-2014 is the Chinese national routine method for measuring the natural and artificial radionuclides in marine sediment with a high-purity germanium gamma spectrometer.
It covers the collection and preparation of the sample, the calibration of the spectrometer, the counting, the identification of each nuclide from its characteristic gamma lines and the calculation of its activity, with the checks on detection limit and uncertainty.
It applies to laboratory determinations above the detection limit, on samples whose gamma lines can be separated. Marine monitoring institutes and environmental laboratories use it. Issued on 27 March 2014, it has applied since 1 October 2014.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules.
This standard by the National Standardization Technical Commission for Oceanography (SAC/TC283) centralized.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the use of high-purity germanium [HPGe] gamma spectrometer measured in marine sediment natural or artificial radionuclide gamma activity routine method.
This standard applies to the determination of the laboratory activity above the detection limit, and each nuclide gamma characteristic lines can distinguish open marine sediments sample.
