Scope
GB/T 30406-2013 is the English-translated version of 植物纤维模塑制品通用技术要求.
GB/T 30406-2013 sets out the terms and definitions, classification, requirements, test methods and inspection rules for molded products made from plant fiber, together with its provisions on marking and packaging, packaging, transport and storage.
Clause 1 limits application to products obtained by molding from plant fiber powder used as the main raw material, and expressly excludes plant fiber molded articles that come into direct contact with food.
The definition in clause 3 describes such a product as one formed by molding from powdered agricultural and forestry residues, straw, rice husk, bagasse and bamboo among them, present at a mass fraction of at least 50%.
Clause 2 lists the documents the standard works from, among them GB/T 462 for moisture in paper and board, GB/T 2918 for specimen conditioning, GB/T 2828.1 for acceptance sampling, GB/T 5009.156 on migration testing of food-contact materials, and a group of biodegradability methods including GB/T 19276.1, GB/T 19277.1, GB/T 19277.2, GB/T 22047, ISO 14853 and ISO 15985.
The standard was proposed by the China National Light Industry Council and is administered by the National Plastics Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC48), with the Light Industry Institute of Plastics Processing Applications and the National Plastic Products Quality Supervision and Inspection Centre (Beijing) among the drafting organisations.
It carries ICS 83.140.01 and Chinese classification Y28, and is estimated at some 9,900 words. It was issued on 31 December 2013 and has applied since 1 December 2014.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules. The standard proposed by China National Light Industry Council.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions plant fiber molded article, classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, logo and packaging, packaging, Transportation, storage requirements.
This standard applies to plant fiber powder as the main raw material, obtained by molding products.
This standard does not apply to direct contact with food plant fiber molded article.
