Scope

GB/T 3028-2012 is the English-translated version of 船用电气号灯.

GB/T 3028-2012 specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging and storage of marine electric signal lights.

Clause 1 limits application to the design, manufacture and acceptance of the navigation lights of ships, which it names as the sidelights, the masthead light, the stern light, the towing light and the all-round lights, supplied at up to 250 V alternating current at 50 Hz or 60 Hz, or direct current.

Clause 3 holds the requirements and opens with types, parameters and main dimensions, which must conform to CB/T 338-2008, followed by structure, whose general requirements follow clause 4 of GB 7000.1-2007; clauses 4, 5 and 6 then cover test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging and storage.

The tables and figures listed on the page show what those requirements control: insulation resistance, creepage distances and clearances, the main optical parameters of the lights, the boundaries of the chromaticity coordinate regions, luminous intensity against visibility distance, the beam profiles of the starboard (green) light, the masthead light and the stern and towing lights, vibration test parameters, the power fluctuation range, the insulation resistance and electric strength test voltages, and the type and factory inspection items with the order and the number of samples.

The 1972 International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea and their amendments are cited among the normative references, together with GB 4208-2008 on enclosure protection, GB/T 7922-2008 on the measurement of light colour and GB 17743-2007 on radio disturbance from lighting equipment.

The foreword lists what changed against the previous edition: the title, the references, new provisions on type, parameters and main dimensions, a revised structure clause, light source and lampholder requirements extended to LEDs, a new provision on terminals and a revised provision on wiring, new endurance and heating tests, new heat, fire and tracking resistance tests, revised power fluctuation requirements, electromagnetic compatibility requirements for lights using LEDs, the enclosure protection rating raised from IP55 to IP56, and new requirements on the minimum luminous arc angle needed to reach the required intensity and visibility distance, on the uniformity of luminance within it and on the value permitted at the cut-off boundary of the light emitting angle.

It was proposed by the China State Shipbuilding Corporation and is administered by the National Technical Committee on Ships and Boats Standardization (SAC/TC12).

It replaces GB/T 3028-1995, the foreword adding that the standard supersedes the earlier GB/T 3028-1982 as well, was issued on 2012-06-29 and has applied since 2012-11-01.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules.

This standard replaces GB/T 3028-1995 "marine electrical lights technical conditions", the main technical content compared with the GB/T 3028-1995 Changes are as follows.

--- The name of "marine electrical lights technical conditions" to "marine electrical lights";

--- Modify the standard reference;

--- Added "type, parameters and main dimensions" requirement (see 3.1);

--- Modify the "structure" requirement (see 3.2,1995 version 3.4);

--- Modify the "source" requirement, increase the LED light source requirements (see 3.2.3,1995 version 3.5);

--- Modify the "lamp holder" requirement, increase the LED lamp holder requirements (see 3.2.4,1995 version 3.5);

--- Added "Terminals" requirement (see 3.2.5);

--- Modify the "wiring" requirement (see 3.2.6,1995 version 3.6);

--- Added "endurance test and thermal test" requirements and test methods (see 3.7);

--- Increased "heat, fire and the resistance to tracking test" requirements and test methods (see 3.8);

--- Modify the "power fluctuations" requirements and test methods (see 3.14,1995 version 3.7.1);

--- Increased use of LED lights light electromagnetic compatibility requirements and test methods (see 3.18);

--- The enclosure protection rating IP55 by the modification of IP56 (see 3.19,1995 version 3.4.6);

--- Increasing the inner glow of lights at a predetermined angle, the minimum luminous arcs angle visibility distance and used to achieve the desired strength Luminous uniformity of requirements within the same time provides the lights off in the value of the light emitting angle at the boundary of the requirements (see 3.20).

1 Scope

This standard specifies the marine electric lights (hereinafter referred to as lights) requirements, test methods, inspection rules, labeling, packaging and storage.

This standard applies to AC (50Hz or 60Hz) or less at 250V DC power supply voltage and types of ships sailing with the lights (for Including sidelights, masthead light, stern lights, towing lights, round lights) design, production and acceptance.
