Scope
GB/T 29480-2013 is the English-translated version of 接近电气设备的安全导则.
GB/T 29480-2013 is a safety guideline for electrical equipment that people may approach.
Clause 1 says the standard specifies the protective measures against electrical hazards and the safety principles for electrical equipment, together with the requirements put on the personnel who approach it, and that it applies to the various kinds of electrical equipment that may be approached and used in an electrical workplace, including the management, installation and maintenance personnel.
Clause 2 cites GB 19517-2009 and GB/T 24612.1-2009.
Clause 3 takes the definitions of those two standards and sets out five of its own, each with its source: electrical equipment and the electrical workplace, both from GB 19517-2009, the electrically safe work condition from GB/T 24612.1-2009, electrical work, taken from order number 30 of the State Administration of Work Safety and covering the operation, maintenance, installation, repair, renovation, construction and commissioning of electrical equipment but not work on the power system network, and the professional, whose English name the draft misspells, defined as the person with the education, the experience and the ability to recognise the risks and avoid the electrical hazards involved.
The definition of the electrical workplace describes a space used mainly for running electrical equipment and which as a rule only trained or initially trained specialists may enter.
The draft breaks off after that fifth definition, so the clauses that carry the protective measures, the safety principles and the personnel requirements announced in clause 1 are not shown on the page.
The standard is administered by SAC/TC25 and filed under ICS 29.020 and Chinese classification K09. It was issued on 7 February 2013 and has applied since 1 July 2013.
