Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document supersedes GB/T 28743-2012 "General Technical Conditions for Wastewater Treatment Container Equipment" and is consistent with GB/T 28743-2012. Compared to previous versions, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The scope has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2012 edition);

b) A "Terms and Definitions" section has been added (see Chapter 3);

c) The "Equipment Classification" section has been removed (see Chapter 3 of the.2012 edition);

d) The "Basic Requirements" section has been removed (see section

4.1 in the.2012 edition);

e) The "Design Requirements" have been changed (see 4.1,

4.2 in the.2012 edition);

f) The following requirements have been removed. "Environmental Requirements," "Reliability Requirements," "Interchangeability Requirements," and "Equipment Electrical and Safety Requirements" (see section

4.3 of the.2012 edition). 4.5, 4.6, 4.7);

g) Added "Material Requirements" (see 4.2);

h) The "Manufacturing Requirements" have been changed (see 4.3,

1 Scope

GB/T 28743-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering the tanks and reactors of a treatment works - their materials and corrosion protection against a liquid that attacks steel and concrete alike, their structural design, their coatings and the inspection that keeps them in service. Issued on 2 December 2025, it has been in force since 1 July 2026, replacing GB/T 28743-2012.
