Scope

GB/T 26521-2024 is the English-translated version of 工业碳酸镍.

GB/T 26521-2024 is the Chinese standard for industrial nickel carbonate. It is a feedstock rather than an end product, used to make nickel catalysts, nickel salts, pigments, ceramic colours and, increasingly, the precursors of lithium battery cathode material, and in each of those the impurities matter more than the assay: iron, copper, cobalt, zinc, calcium and sodium carried through from the leaching and precipitation stages end up in the finished product where they poison a catalyst or shorten a cell. The standard sets the classification and the requirements, the nickel content, the moisture and the limits on each impurity by grade, together with the appearance and the granulometry; then the test methods, the titrimetric and instrumental procedures for each determination; then the inspection rules, the sampling and the acceptance; and then the marking, packaging, transport and storage. It takes effect on 1 April 2025.

1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting is required. This document replaces GB/T 26521-2011 "Industrial Nickel Carbonate". Compared with GB/T 26521-2011, except for structural adjustment and editing, In addition to the changes in performance, the main technical changes are as follows: Changed the scope (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2011 edition); - Added classification (see Chapter 5);- The indicators of manganese, cadmium, chromium, sulfur, lead, chloride and sulfate content were added, and the indicators of cobalt, copper, iron, sodium, zinc, calcium, Indicator of magnesium content (see 6.2,

4.2 of the.2011 edition); Added the determination methods of manganese, cadmium, chromium, sulfur, lead, chloride and sulfate content (see 7.4, 7.6, 7.7); - The determination methods of cobalt, copper, iron, sodium, zinc, calcium and magnesium have been changed (see 7.4,

5.11 of the.2011 edition); - The requirement for shelf life has been deleted (see

8.4 of the.2011 edition). - Please note that some of the contents of this document may involve patents.
