Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted.

This document replaces GB/T 2479-2008 "Ordinary Abrasive White Corundum", compared with GB/T 2479-2008, except for structural adjustment and editing In addition to the editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) Changed the grade of white corundum for coated abrasives (see Chapter 4, Chapter 3 of the.2008 edition);

b) Changed the chemical composition index (see 5.1, 4.1 of the.2008 edition);

c) Added the content of J series abrasive powder (see 5.1, 5.3, Table 3);

d) Added requirements for marking, transportation and storage (see Chapter 8).

1 Scope

This document specifies the grades, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, transportation and storage of white corundum abrasives.

This document is applicable to the white corundum abrasive for the manufacture of bonded abrasives and coated abrasives.

4 Grades

The grades of white corundum abrasives are specified as follows.

---The grade of white corundum used for vitrified bonded abrasives and coated abrasives is WA;

---The grade of white corundum used for bonded abrasives with organic bond is WA-B.
