Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted.

This document replaces GB/T 2478-2008 "Ordinary abrasive brown corundum", compared with GB/T 2478-2008, except for structural adjustment and editing In addition to the editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) Changed the grade (see Chapter 4, Chapter 3 of the.2008 edition);

b) Changed the chemical composition index (see 5.1, 4.1 of the.2008 edition);

c) Changed the index of magnetic content (see 5.5, 4.5 of the.2008 edition);

d) Added the content of J series abrasive powder (see 5.1, 5.3, Table 4);

e) Added requirements for marking, transportation and storage (see Chapter 8).

1 Scope

This document specifies the grades, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, transportation and storage of brown corundum abrasives.

This document applies to the manufacture of bonded abrasives, coated abrasives and brown corundum abrasives for sandblasting and polishing purposes.

4 Grades

The grades of brown corundum abrasives are specified as follows.

--- The grade of brown corundum used for vitrified bonded abrasives and coated abrasives is A;

---The grade of brown corundum used for bonded abrasives with organic bond is AB;

--- The grade of brown corundum used for sandblasting and polishing is AS.
