Scope
GB/T 23868-2019 is the English-translated version of 体育用品的分类.
GB/T 23868-2019 is the Chinese national classification of sporting goods. It gives the terms and definitions and the classification itself, applies to products designed and manufactured for sports activities and does not apply to sports venues.
It defines sporting goods as products used in physical education, athletics and physical exercise, and rehabilitation equipment as equipment for rehabilitation training after sports injuries.
The classes include sportswear, split into competition, award-winning and casual sportswear, and sports shoes, split into special and casual sports shoes, alongside the equipment classes and sports protection products.
Against the previous edition it renames training equipment as fitness equipment, adds indoor and outdoor fitness equipment, rehabilitation equipment and physical monitoring equipment, and adds an annex of fitness equipment examples.
It replaces GB/T 23868-2009, was issued on 30 August 2019 and has applied since 1 March 2020.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 23868-2009 "Classification of Sporting Goods", compared with GB/T 23868-2009, except for editorial changes. The main technical changes are as follows.
--- Added terminology and definition chapters (see Chapter 2);
--- Added the terms "sports goods" and "rehabilitation equipment" (see 2.1 and 2.2);
---Modified the name of "training equipment" and changed its name to "fitness equipment" (see 3.3.2, 2.3.2 of 2009 edition);
--- Added "indoor fitness equipment" and "outdoor fitness equipment" (see 3.3.2.1 and 3.3.2.2);
--- Added "rehabilitation equipment" and "physical monitoring equipment" (see 3.3.3 and 3.3.4);
--- Added "sports protection products" (see 3.4);
--- Added "other" (see 3.4.2);
--- Added "Example of fitness equipment" (see Appendix B).
1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification of sporting goods.
This standard applies to products designed and manufactured for sports activities.
This standard does not apply to sports venues and sports venues.
2 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
2.1 Sporting goods
Products used in physical education, athletics, and physical exercise.
2.2 Rehabilitation equipment
Equipment for rehabilitation training after sports injuries.
3 Classification of sporting goods
3.1 Sportswear
Clothing designed and manufactured for sports activities.
3.1.1 Competition sportswear
Clothing that meets the requirements of special sports competitions.
3.1.2 Award-winning sportswear
With the style of sportswear, it is suitable for clothing that meets the etiquette requirements such as sports awards.
3.1.3 Casual sportswear
It has the characteristics of sportswear and is suitable for mass fitness and leisure activities.
3.2 Sneakers
Shoes designed and manufactured for sports activities.
3.2.1 Special sports shoes
Shoes that meet the requirements of special sports.
3.2.2 Casual sports shoes
It has the characteristics of sports shoes and is suitable for mass fitness and leisure activities.
