Scope

GB/T 22385-2025 is the English-translated version of 大坝安全监测系统验收规范.

GB/T 22385-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering signing off the instruments that watch a dam — the civil works and the burial of each instrument, then the observations themselves, for environmental quantities, deformation, seepage, stress, strain and temperature, hydraulics and strong motion, the automation system and its trial run, the data compilation and analysis, the information management system, and the graded list of quality defects that decides whether a sub-project passes. An instrument buried in the body of a dam cannot be got back, which makes the acceptance of the installation matter as much as the readings. It replaces GB/T 22385-2008, under the China Electricity Council. In force from 1 November 2025. Issued on 25 April 2025, it has been in force since 1 November 2025, replacing GB/T 22385-2008.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.

This document replaces GB/T 22385-2008 “Acceptance Specification for Dam Safety Monitoring System”.

In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) Added “observation”, “monitoring”, “safety monitoring”, “surveillance”, “online monitoring”, “monitoring indicators”, “monitoring equipment” and “monitoring facilities” The terms and definitions of “monitoring system”, “initial measurement value”, “initial value”, “baseline value”, “preliminary analysis of monitoring data” and “comprehensive analysis of monitoring data” are as follows.

Meaning (see 3.7, 3.8, 3.9, 3.10, 3.11, 3.12, 3.13, 3.14, 3.15, 3.16, 3.17, 3.18, 3.19, 3.20);

b) Added four chapters. "Environmental quantity monitoring acceptance", "Hydraulics monitoring acceptance", "Strong vibration monitoring acceptance", and "Monitoring information management system acceptance" Content (see Chapters 5, 9, 10, and 13);

c) Deleted the requirements for the composition of the working committees (groups) for the acceptance of sub-projects, stage acceptance, and final acceptance, as well as the requirements for the final acceptance meeting.

Relevant contents of general working procedures (see 5.2.3, 5.3.3, 5.4.4, 5.4.5, 5.4.9 of the 2008 edition);

d) Added the acceptance of equipment related to surface deformation total station automated observation, global navigation satellite (GNSS) system, and electromagnetic settlement ring.

Related requirements (see 6.2.2.5, 6.2.2.6, 6.2.2.19);

e) Deleted the specific test frequency requirements for deformation, seepage, stress, strain and temperature monitoring items (see 6.3.2.1, 2008 edition). 7.3.2.1, 8.3.1.4);

f) Added relevant content on video surveillance system acceptance (see 11.2.1.3, 11.3.1, 11.3.2);

g) The contents of monitoring automation system power supply, communication, test station, trial operation and maintenance have been changed (see 11.2.2.3, 11.2.2.4, 11.2.2.6, 11.3.1, 9.2.2.3, 9.2.2.4, 9.2.2.7, 9.3.1 of the 2008 edition);

h) The chapter title of “Monitoring Data Compilation and Preliminary Analysis” was changed to “Monitoring Data Compilation and Analysis Results Acceptance”, adding Relevant contents of acceptance of preliminary analysis of measurement data and comprehensive analysis results of monitoring data (see 12.3.1 and 12.3.2);

i) Deleted the contents related to sub-projects and sub-sub-projects (see Appendix C of the 2008 edition);

j) The Appendix “Format of Completion Acceptance Appraisal” is changed from a normative appendix to an informative appendix (see Appendix C, Appendix G of the 2008 edition).
