Scope

GB/T 22344-2018 is the English-translated version of 包装用聚酯捆扎带.

GB/T 22344-2018 covers polyester (PET) strapping for packaging, made mainly from polyethylene terephthalate by extrusion and uniaxial stretching.

It defines camber and classifies straps by use, as machine straps for automatic strapping machines or straps for manual tools, by tensile fracture stress into Class I and Class II, and by surface into embossed and smooth straps.

It sets the specification codes built from nominal width and thickness, the technical requirements, the test methods, based on GB/T 1040.1-2006 for tensile properties, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage of the straps, including their storage shelf life.

It is used by strap manufacturers and packaging users. It replaces GB/T 22344-2008, was issued on 15 March 2018 and has applied since 1 October 2018.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This standard replaces GB/T 22344-2008 "Polyester Strap for Packaging".

Compared with GB/T 22344-2008, the main technical changes except editorial modification are as follows.

--- Deleted the relevant content of the modification using ASTM D3950 (see the preface of the 2008 edition);

--- Increased classification by surface process characteristics (see 4.1.3);

--- According to GB/T 1040.1-2006 specification of the text of the term (see Chapter 4, Chapter 5, 2008 Edition of Chapter 4, Chapter 5);

--- Added markings, requirements and test methods for embossing straps (see 4.1.3, 4.2.1, 4.2.2, 5.2.2, 6.6.2.3);

--- Modify the amount of volume change (see 5.1.5, 2008 version 5.1.4);

--- Modify the specification parameters (see Table 1, 2008 version of Table 1);

--- Removed joint strength (see 5.4.3, 6.5.2 of the 2008 edition);

--- Modify the data value rules (see 6.1.4, 2008 version 6.1.4);

--- Increased inspection rules (see Chapter 7);

--- Increased storage shelf life provisions (see 8.4).

1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classifications and markings, technical requirements, test parties for packaging polyester tapes (hereinafter referred to as bundling tapes). Laws, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and storage.

This standard applies to polyester (polyethylene terephthalate, abbreviated code PET) as the main raw material, through the extrusion uniaxial stretching molding, into The straps that are used for packaging and strapping.

3 Terms and definitions

The definitions of GB/T 1040.1-2006 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Camber

The maximum distance between the concave side of the strap and the straight line connecting the two ends of the measuring section.

4 Classification and marking

4.1 Product Classification

4.1.1 According to the tying method, it is divided into. strapping straps for automatic strapping machines (referred to as machine straps, code name "J") and straps for manual tools (abbreviated as Work belt, code "S").

4.1.2 According to tensile fracture stress (sigmaB) is divided into.

a) Class I. sigmaB is not less than 390 MPa;

b) Class II. sigmaB is greater than or equal to 350 MPa but less than 390 MPa.

4.1.3 According to the technical characteristics of the surface of the binding band, it is divided into. embossing banding (abbreviated as "embossed band", code name "Y") and smooth banding band (abbreviated as "glossy band", No. "G").

4.2 Product Specifications and Marks

4.2.1 The specification code of the glossy binding band is a 6-digit Arabic digit group. the first 3 digits are the width codes and the unit is millimeters (mm) The nominal width multiplied by 10; the last 3 digits are the thickness code, expressed in millimeters (mm) of the nominal thickness times 100, see Table 1; The specifications of the glossy strapping straps with the same nominal width, tensile fracture stress rating, and tensile fracture minimum load as shown in Table 1 […]
