Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting.
This document supersedes GB/T 21754-2008 "Test Method for Inhalation Toxicity of Chemicals with Repeated Dose over 28 Days/14 Days" and is consistent with GB/T Compared to 2008, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
— The scope has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 2008 edition);
— Terminology and Definitions, Abbreviations have been revised (see Chapters 3 and 4, Chapter 2 of the 2008 edition);
— The "Test Methods" section has been revised, and "Dose Exploration Trials" has been added (see Chapter 6, Chapter 4 of the 2008 edition);
— The "Test Method" has been modified, including the mass median aerodynamic diameter (MMAD) and geometric standard deviation of particulate aerosols.
(GSD) requirements (see Chapter 6, 6.7, 4.4.2 of the 2008 edition);
— The "Test Methods" have been modified to include the detection and analysis of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid and lung load, as well as pathological examination of lung tissue (see section [number]).

— An "Appendix A Test Protocol" has been added (see Appendix A).

This document describes the test method for the 28-day (subacute) inhalation toxicity of chemicals.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Aerosol
A suspension formed by solid particles or liquid droplets suspended in a gas.
3.2 dust
Solid particles formed from a single substance or mixture that can be suspended in the air.
3.3 mist
A state formed by droplets of a single substance or mixture of substances of varying sizes from 2µm to 100µm suspended in the air.
3.4 Vapor
A gaseous state formed by a single substance or mixture that is in a liquid or solid state at room temperature and pressure.
3.5 concentration
In inhalation toxicity tests, the concentration of the test substance in the air inhaled by experimental animals is measured.
