Scope

GB/T 20999-2017 is the English-translated version of 交通信号控制机与上位机间的数据通信协议.

GB/T 20999-2017 defines the data communication protocol used between a road traffic signal controller and the control centre that supervises it.

It sets the structure of the protocol and the requirements for its physical layer, data link layer, network layer and application layer, and it applies to the exchange of data between signal controllers and the host computer inside a traffic signal control system.

Normative annexes give the communication frame structure, the object ID numbering, the detailed data types and worked message examples. The standard also defines terms such as phase, phase offset and signal group, and it draws on GB/T 15126, GB/T 17547 and the TCP, UDP and IP protocols.

It replaces GB/T 20999-2007, was issued on 29 December 2017 and has applied since 1 July 2018.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard replaces GB/T 20999-2007 "Data Communication Protocol between Traffic Signal Controller and Host Computer". Compared with GB/T 20999-2007, the main technical changes except editorial changes are as follows.

--- Added terms such as phase green interval time, phase phase, phase phase transition constraints, and phase phase chain;

--- Removed the term output channel and the empty interval;

--- Modify the contents of the coordination control for the central coordination control and local coordination control;

--- Appendix A, Appendix B, and Appendix C specify the communication procedures, state constants, data tables, and data fields;

--- Added Appendix D for illustration.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the structure of the data communication protocol between the traffic signal controller and the host computer, the physical layer, the data link layer, and the network layer. Application layer requirements.

This standard is applicable to the data communication between the signal generator and the host computer in the traffic signal control system.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Upper computer (control center)

In a traffic signal control system, an upper device that can communicate with and monitor and monitor multiple semaphores.

3.2 Traffic signal controller

A device capable of changing the order of road traffic signals, adjusting the timing, and controlling the operation of road traffic lights (may be referred to simply as a signal).

3.3 Phase

A signal sequence consisting of red, yellow, green, or red and green changes assigned to one or more traffic flows (the pedestrian light set has no yellow light).

3.4 Phase offset

In coordination control, the difference between the specified reference intersection and the start time or end time of the phase of the coordination intersection.

3.5 Signal group

A complete combination of red, yellow, and green headlights or pedestrian red and green headlights. The signal group corresponds to the output of one phase.
