Scope

GB/T 20509-2023 is the English-translated version of 电力机车接触材料用铜及铜合金线坯.

GB/T 20509-2023 is the Chinese national standard for the copper and copper alloy wire blanks from which the contact materials of electric locomotives are drawn.

It specifies their classification and marking, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules, the marking, packaging, transport and storage, and the accompanying documents and order form.

It applies to blanks 18 mm to 34 mm in diameter used as contact materials on electrified railway locomotives.

Table 1 fixes grade, code, state and specification, from pure copper T2 to silver, tin, magnesium and chromium coppers, in hot rolled, hot extruded and half hard states, and later clauses cover chemical composition, mechanical and electrical properties, grain size and internal quality.

It replaces GB/T 20509-2006, was issued on 23 May 2023 and has applied since 1 December 2023.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules for Standardization Documents" drafting.

This document replaces GB/T 20509-2006 "Copper and Copper Alloy Wire Blanks for Electric Locomotive Contact Materials", and is consistent with GB/T 20509-2006 In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The scope of application of the standard has been changed, the diameter range of copper wire blanks. changed from "18mm~25mm" to "18mm~34mm" (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 2006 edition);

b) Added seven grades of TSn0.15, TSn0.3, TSn0.5, TMg0.25, TMg0.35, TMg0.45, TCr0.6-0.1, deleted QSn0.4 grade (see Table 1, Table 1 of the 2006 edition);

c) Added 1/2 hard state, changed the state representation method, changed from "R" to "M30, M20, H02, TH04" (see Table 1, Table 1 of the 2006 edition);

d) The chemical composition, mechanical properties and electrical performance requirements corresponding to the newly added grades are added (see 5.1, 5.3, 5.4);

e) Changed the mechanical performance indicators of the T2 brand (see Table 3, see Table 3 of the 2006 edition);

f) Changed the requirements for "grain size" (see 5.5, see 3.7 of the 2006 edition);

g) Added the requirement of "internal quality" (see 6.6);

h) Delete the requirement of "torsional characteristics" and the corresponding test method (see 3.5, 4.4 of the 2006 edition);

i) Deleted the "arbitration test for resistivity" (see 4.5.3 of the 2006 edition);

j) Changed the billet assembly requirements from "each batch should be composed of the same grade, state and specification" to "each batch should be composed of the same coil of copper wire composition" (see 7.2, see 5.2 of the 2006 edition);

k) The sampling requirements have been changed (see Table 6, see Table 6 of the 2006 edition).
